Pastor to Pastor Training Networks (P2P)

In Habakkuk 1:5, the prophet hears the Lord say to him, "Look among the nations and watch - be utterly astounded!  For I will work a work in your days which you would not believe, though it were told you."  Of course, this statement by God was one of punishment, a type coming from a more wicked people than Israel.  But the concept was that God was going to use other nations for His purposes.  This is the point that deserves our current attention!  For in truth, God IS working powerfully and miraculously through other nations and He is allowing us to be a part of it!  Believe me, we are "utterly astounded!"  Let me explain.

We originally called our fledgling ministry "Global Network of Theological Training," but is has now been renamed "Pastor to Pastor Training Networks," or P2P, for short.  The cause for us to be "utterly astounded" is the evidence of God's hand upon this work among the nations.  The reason for the renaming was the practical philosophy of using our local pastors and leaders to go and share their knowledge of God's Word with international pastors and leaders that have had little to no training.  Next, these international pastors and leaders would go and share with their contacts, constituents, flocks, acquaintances these same truths that they learned and encouraging them to do the same.  Pastor to pastor to pastor to pastor, creating a Bible training movement.

This movement began in El Salvador with 2 locations in 2016.  We now have 4 locations in El Salvador with 10 more being set up for 2020.  There are 7 schools set up in Honduras with an additional 4 more being set up for 2020.  Peru is extremely exciting with an original 3 locations that have now doubled to 6 for 2020.  The reproduction of these schools is taking less and less time and we are ill equipped to send enough pastors to teach in all the locations that are requesting our schools.

We have lost count of the "granddaughter" schools since our students are having classes to reteach our materials in their hometowns, as well as in other cities where they have connections.  Some of these are reported to us but often times they are not, as this model is fluid, organic, and lacks an arbitrary bureaucratic governance of control.  It is designed to be a movement that does not require our presence to function, flourish, or expand.  Keeping up with how many schools and how many students is therefore very difficult.

P2P has twelve foundational classes: 6 in theology (Theology of God, Salvation, and the Church, Old Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, and Hermeneutics), and 6 in practical application of ministry (Missions/Church Planting, Spiritual Formation, Applied Church History, Evangelism, Pastoral Ministry, and Preaching/Teaching).  Each of these classes continue to be honed down to the most effective, practical, and condensed presentation of each topic to best utilize the limited time constraints of the class in a foreign language.  We travel to each location and teach for two days, 7 hours each day, using local translators.  We use the local restaurants and hotels for our accommodations and for providing meals for the students.

The excitement level for both the international students and our local pastors that teach are immeasurable!  Testimonies from both have created this "utterly astounded" response to this biblically-based model for making disciples of all nations.  This is becoming a true 'movement' of God and the fact that our Precious Father has included us in this process is humbling and fascinating.

If you would like to be involved in this "utterly astounding" ministry, please contact Alan Morris at the North Central Area Missions office.  We would love to introduce you to an overseas ministry that is making a difference in a remarkable, immeasurable way.
